Look like the nearest place for us would be Cumbria... So we would welcome being involved in '' An official SCA entry.''...what would it involve?..

Probably just stick some knobbly tyres on the Bandit. Oh - and braveheart blue faces too

OK, I’m up for an official SCA entry! Is the Bandit strong enough for a BMX/Mountain type course? Do we need a modest membership contribution to beef up/buy tyres for the Bandit?

I reckon she'd cope pretty well. She's rugged enough. I'll see if we can borrow Tequilla Slammer too (see below - guess which one is me)

Do you think suspension would be necessary?

Not really, although both the bandit and the slammer have suspension at the front.

A SCA entry would be fine by me and presumably funded from SCA funds but has anybody found out for sure that existing carts can be entered? By the time they get the race packs out to those who have applied there won't be time to build anything.

I don't really fancy competing in an imaginary one.

We are planning a new build, simple but built like a tank. I have been on these type of courses before, not in a cartie though. will keep you posted with the start of the build after the Cairngorm race.

Catterlinecarties: Centra Bavaria do it all the time. ;D However I did mean to ask, are new builds mandatory for the screw fix competition?

Dunno - you'd be best asking the organisers directly. However, given the short lead time I don't imagine they're going to have a massive number of entries in any case, and if they were to insist on new builds they'd get even fewer teams. £0 entry fee means people will enter and then just not turn up on the day.

I have emailed them twice but had no reply. I actually wonder if it is ever going to happen.

If the entry packs were posted on Friday I'd expect them to be arriving today or tomorrow.

Nothing here either, but they did tweet today that they were extending the deadline for requesting an info' pack. Their email a few weeks ago was sent to about 150 addresses, which when you divide by the number of heats and factor in those who'll not register or will just not turn up and it starts to look like a pretty small field for each heat. The ever shortening lead time won't help.
I agree with Andy - it's looking less likely by the day.
