I got an email from a Liza Stanton dated 25th May to say my pack would arrive shortly but still waiting. Also to follow updates on Screw fix twitter and Facebook. Beginning to think this is a wind up.

I reckon they under estimated just what was involved in organising such a series of events and went to press too early. Hope they get it sorted ok, but doesnt leave people much time to plan their builds, especially those first timers.

right who's going to Cumbria ??, any north east local boys fancy teaming up for a go at this event, I could manage 3 carts
Only thing is I will probally have to build another cart to suit the conditions ...after stating at the weekend never again...so call me a liar.
And it clashes with the motorcycle convention at Alford drop me anote if interested

I got two emails today: the first saying the web site had been updated and the second email recalling the first one. I would go if it was a half decent venue within reasonable reach and costs could be shared. To be honest Dalby Forrest looks to be a better bet at this point.

I wonder how they define 'ready made kart'. Also, in one place it says the max weight is 150kg and in the PDF it says it's 100kg???

I suspect the weight discrepancy is because they've done a copy&paste job from some other set of rules. They do look remarkably familiar in places and they have clearly lifted their wording from other well known rules sets. It's a shame that they've decided not to bother acknowledging other people's prior work.

right who's going to Cumbria ??, any north east local boys fancy teaming up for a go at this event, I could manage 3 carts I'm up for it. Maybe we should put in an official SCA team. Stick some knobbly tyres and a half fairing on the Bandit we're about there I reckon.

Most knobbly tyres are 50mm or wider so should not be much of a problem, easily available in the common 406 BMX size even from halfords. Sadly the same cannot be said for the less common 349 wheel size where slicks are about all you can get thus unless I change my wheels (£££!) I won't be racing at screwfix .

By the looks of it all the events are outdoor mountain boarding centres, this has been confirmed
6 EVENTS WITH A FINAL
all events on grass, short cut (like a football pitch)
I think the dimensions are just rough guidelines for the less experienced who may need a gentle push
max weight confirmed at 150kg!!! must have been a typo
Does look like screwfix went to publication early but may have had problems sourcing venues, got a few texts and keeping an eye on the website
Sounds like a fun, never had chance to compete before!! rally day with guy wilks sounds tempting!

Can existing carts take part (With modification) or do the organisers require carts to be built specifically for the event?

Can existing carts take part (With modification) or do the organisers require carts to be built specifically for the event? I think you'd probably need to ask the organisers directly.

Hi Andy, I wouldn't have thought time was your problem in building a new cart but you must be running out of cartie storage space by now. ;D
