The Bales are somewhere near Scammonden, aren't they? Scammonden to Traws is 125 miles!

have been trying to ring the pub - not got through yet though...? will give it another blast today/tonight. Thought i'd better warn em of lots of hungry riders for sat night too. Also is this the cabins we're staying in? Just checking where to head for. Thanks. See you all in Wales... www.logcabins-skiwales.co.uk/rhiwgochaccom.htmThe Pub is just aboove the Holiday Village: Contact info. can be found here: www.logcabins-skiwales.co.uk/rhiwgoch.htmIt is huge inside and split onto lots of rooms. As it's low season and there will be so many of us (20+) spending money on food and drink I'm sure they would be more than happy to let us set up the vid gear. Best to ask in advance tho. Joel

Just some "final instructions" for those in cabin 342, namely:
Me Andy Dirtsurfer Leo Mountain Board Len BOS Graeme Will Will's bird.
The site office is open until 5pm. Most of us are coming from miles away and God knows who'll get there first, so: If you arrive before 5pm on the Friday. collect the keys from the site office. If the keys have already gone, then you know someone else got there first.
I've just phoned and checked and if you arrive after 5pm, they leave the keys in the cabin door. Remember, number 342. So, if you get there after 5pm, go straight to the cabin. If you find the keys in the door, then you're first. Whoever gets there first, if you leave the cabin to go off elsewhere (the pub, for example) PLEASE LEAVE A NOTE ON THE DOOR WITH YOUR MOBILE NUMBER AND SAYING WHERE YOU ARE.
The other point: They supply bedding but you have to bring your own mattress covers and pillow cases.
Graeme contacted me to say he won't be there for Friday night, but will be there for Saturday night. Therefore, he very kindly offered his bed to anyone else who might care to use it on Friday, but of course he'll want it on Saturday, but he's still happy to pay the full amount. Top bloke Graeme! So in short, free bed on Friday if anyone wants/needs it.
It's £27.50 per person for the entire weekend.
See you there!

Hi Mike,
Really chuffed you're joining us. I have two sets of Oust Moc 9s to give back to you.
I don't see any reason why you shouldn't park your camper van near our cabins.
EVERYONE ELSE: So who IS getting there Friday night? I was aiming to get there between 6pm and 7pm. Am I going to be Billy?

Well, I guess the word was WET! Last time I do a rain dance the night before an event....
Had a fantastic time, great meeting up with everyone again. Gnarly hill, looked like it had more grip in the rain!!! Definatly somewhere to go back to in the summer for another weekend of cruising. I reckon it should be kept as a freeride venue as racing for stand-up is a bit hairy.
Fantastic video evening in the cabin, great show S+B, loved the chamrousse stuff. Well done on the interview editing, by some miracle you managed to make us come across ok, if a little pissed, which we were....
Many thanks to the Marshals for standing about in the cold and wet, many thanks for Graham for picking up the signs and MANY, MANY thanks to Derek, Ian R and Ian D for doing the bales at the Scammo end and bringing them over. Hopefully next time we can get some more people up to help out with that.
See you all soon
Joel

Hello all,
Just a quick post to say thanks to all who helped out at the weekend. Good work Derek and Ian. Thanks to muzzo and Helen for marshalling in the rain.
Cool videos again from Saft & Boneless
One Very big big up to Ian Dawson for helping with the bails on Saturday when he wasn't even riding. WELL DONE FELLA!!!! ;D
Oh and my car totally died on the way home about 15 miles from Bala. The nice AA took 8 hours to get us home and dropped us for 2 hours in a car park full of doggers. Why does this sort of shit always happen to me?
Anyway. thanks people.
Graham.

Yes well done everyone. It was good to see so many faces there, considering for most people its probably the hardest event to get to. Well done to the riders who braved the rain. Big Thanks to Ian Dawson, Ian, Derek and the marshalls.
Cant wait for Dalby

yep! - thanks from S+B to all the above organisers and bale mover shakers ...
and thanks Joel for sorting the comfy accomodations, Casper's Audio Visual Emporium for bringing the projector plus sheet and leads, Octane Sports car boot for dvd peddling, JA for the T shirt, Mr and Mrs Muzzo for the teabags and sugar, and everyone at cabin 354 for smokin in the rain.
Shame about the amount of wetness - but hey, wales in feb??!

Top hill - would be great in the dry...! Thanks to everyone who sorted it. Look forward to it later in the year?
BTW don't bother taking the road from Chalkies Corner towards Bala as a "shortcut" - it took me over half-an-hour, rarely getting above 20mph, dodging errant farmer's landrovers and opening & shutting half-a-dozen gates

If anyone has any good photos from the event please send to me for the UKGSA website. Would also appreciate it if anyone wants to do a bit of a write-up.

Hia If anyone has any good photos from the event please send to me for the UKGSA website. Andy Dirtsurfer has already started a folder on the UK Gravity photo archive called "Traws Freeride '06", so can we stick any photos in there? I saw plenty of cameras as I went down the hill, so there must be some about!
