So who is going? Anyone planning to camp and if so where?
We're going to be there but will probably travel down on the day. I've heard that Cairngorm Mountain will be there too. Who else?

Hi Lads - Team Alford will be there with 5" rear and 4" front ground clearance. Going down on my own now so if I can't get a B&B will sleep in the cart trailer on site if that is allowed. All seems a bit daft going so far for three runs down a grass field but will be good to see those there and perhaps something more will come out of the trip.

Alford's Runfree is really hot! Don't try welding with duct tape near the weld site. ;D

Centa Bavaria`s skunkwork Dept were given the brief for screwfix...and this is what they came up with....now personally I think they may have got this one wrong....however they have not let me down before !! I was at William Hills this afternoon and tried to place a bet on Cairngorm Mountain Rescue...and guess what...they have closed the book !!! Attachments:

Looks like Team Caiman will be there after all, assuming I can get original cart back up and running. Didnt realise untill this evening that I had robbed so many bits off it. e.g. no brakes, steering, front uprights and the tyres are all too small. So... assuming bits ordered tonight get here in time we will be there

Naecost has now been modded for "Screwfix". New tyres (3 robbed from some bikes in the garage and one from Pist n Broke), ride height raised to the the required 100mm and suspension softed up. Not like us to be so organised before an event, just waiting for the Team Rooket "oh b**ger" moment!! See you all on saturday.

No, they are 20s. 26" are fine for bikes, but are not really upto the job for offroad bogies. How did your event go, I have not heard anything?

The Shropshire event was simple, good fun and informal. The organising team was clearly still finding its feet but did their best ,mostly successfully, to keep things moving. Not many carts but everyone was keen to have a good time and help each other, I was offered two spare wheels as mine were on the point of disintegration. For me one cart stood out in its simplicity and design , a solution I d not seen before(admittedly limited experience) it didnt do too well but with a few tweaks it could have been much better and it looked great. The grass course looked short and easy...... but....... presented quite few challenges (ask Gerry) to one not used to grass tracks... I have learned the lessons. All in all I had a great day out and came second so will be at Perth ,also the prize was very generous . its going towards a nice tool, maybe one I could use to make a new cart (a pipe bender would be good) Best of luck to all at Cumbria!
