(stands up) Good evening. *ahem* My name is Alex, and I'm a moderator. I haven't been a moderator before, so I hope you'll all be nice to me and each other. It's been a few years now that I've been around, on, next to, falling off of, watching, filming, and smelling skateboards. Not as long as some others here, but a while. I don't race, I don't enter competitions, I've never ridden at Gerston. I skate when I like to, and when I do it makes me feel good. Sometimes I like trying to go down a hill standing up very quickly, sometimes I just like making me skate go sideways for a bit with my hands on the floor. I'm here because I'm not a racer, I love the skate, and I'm pretty impartial. Just thought I'd say hello. (sits down)

Hello Mr Moderator - Hope you can keep these kids under control. Remember - smack'em round the head, it leaves less bruises...
Ride hard, stay safe.

Hello,
Welcome to the board. Hope you have fun playing with us.
I have made you an Administrator so you can now do what you like. Even change the colours to something less green.
Thought about changing your username to judge judy but decided not to. Maybe the nick name will stick all by itself.
Enjoy
Graham

Dear Judge Judy................
Nice to meet you! Will you be involved in the UKGSA generally? I mean by coming to some of the events to put names to faces etc?

Yeah, this year I'll try to get along to more events and generally be around more. But like I said, I don't compete, I like to skate for the fun of it, because it makes me feel good when I get something right. But mainly, precisely because I'm not heavily involved in the scene means I don't have any vested interests in one area of gravity sports - other than the fact that I enjoy it, and we all need to grow the sports and encourage others to try it, and hopefully, love it. And if they don't love it, perhaps they can grow to love each other. Or themselves. Spread the love man... Anyways - more seriously, I will be trying to make sure that the threads are fair and balanced. I don't want to see childish snipes at each other over who's a better rider, who knows what about what sport and who's riding where. This does nothing to advance things. We have a terrific collection of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm. All the things we need to improve the scene are here, its just how we collectively choose to use the things we have that'll really help get things moving on in the coming year. The summers not far off, there are already plans being made for Europe trips. Some interesting ideas are being passed around - its all looking like this years going to be a good one. And its nice to see a few familiar names in here too. A few guidelines: 1. No threats of physical violence. Any posts like this will be deleted. Please message me if you spot any. 2. If a thread is degenerating into name calling or a slanging match, its most likely going to get locked. 3. No porn. If you want to share something with your mates, message them. I guess it all boils down to a little forethought before you hit the post button. But you guys know all this already. Above all, have fun. This is supposed to be fun isn't it?

Hi Graham
Thanks for that, I was about to do it myself. Did you check that they were always using the same IP address? I have tried it in the past, but the spam-bot at the time was using a rotating IP address to stop you being able to block them.
Any way, fingers crossed for the moment

hello,
the two that I blocked this morning used the same IP address on more than one occasion. but there has been more spam since then from different IPs that i have also blocked...
I'll keep an eye on it but we may need to consider changing to having to be a signed in to post!
We'll see how it goes.

OK Len. You turn up on the board the same day as a board member is banned linking to videos of the same board member. You do not introduce yourself. You do not tells us about yourself and your involvement in the sport. You do not ask any questions. No offence mate, but I'm not bloody suprised the admin deleted your stuff.
A complaint was made about your post and that it was imporsonating someone else. In addition, having seen it before it was deleted, I can say that it used offensive language, was promoting the activities of a banned member and showed the sport in an irrisponsible light.
I suggest that you introduce yourself, you still havn't properly, or the UKGSA may end up deleting more of your posts.
Joel

Time to clean up. You've got spam all over the place. Especially in the Luge section. These spammers are a waste of space and someones time. We changed to manually selecting newbies to come in so I'm not surprised about 'Lens' problem............Trikes Admin for www.southerntasbillycart.com
