Our hill 1s 1.1 miles long and is closed to motor vehicles, driving round the longway round is about 2.6 miles and involves major traffic jams at certain times of the day. Does anyone have any Good ideas as how to easily move two bikes and riders back up the hill, I have tried straps on the shoulder and handles attached with toe straps but none of these (although better than pushing stooped over for a mile) are very good
Does Anyone out there have the answer ?
PS building lots of gravity bikes is not an option

Put a crankset, pedals and chain in a rucksack, at bottom of hill install the parts and then pedal up the hill then remove parts and stow in rucksack.

Leew,s Idea is difficult as both bikes are flip frames and the idea was to carry minimal equipment in a bag for safety reasons...
catterline carties you will find out about the hill soon as i will need to speak to you about a something happening in 2012

hello, been lurking looking for build ideas, but i do have one tow idea. not the perfect solution (you'd have to take turns), but maybe better than nothing.
maybe find an old tandem? fit it with some kind of hookup where you take the front wheel off your g-bike and put the fork in a quick release skewer and strap the front wheel to something. and i guess a lock to keep the bike at the top of the hill secure 'til y'all get back.
one person rides their g-bike down, the other rides the tandem down, maybe following like a "sag" or emergency vehicle. at the bottom hook up the g-bike and both pedal it back up for the other rider's turn. if you can come up with a tandem for each rider and willing friends, girlfriends or something, they can be your "crew". maybe as a bit of side fun paint it to match your g-bike.
the g-bike is just a "for fun" project for me, but i have been thinking of doing this if i stumble across a cheap tandem.

Bungee tied at the top OR giant catapult built at the bottom. We usually have someone following us in a car or van, but it is pain.
