After having a great time at dalby and filming the 4 bikes on the hill it got me to thinking what could be done and how much bodywork could be used to improve the aero . at this stage its just my mind running wild. are there regs on length, width, wheelbase, hight, weight, seating position, how much fairing /at the front, under,around the legs ,wheel size ? max min ?center hub steering?

HI Steve, the IGSA has 2 catogaries for G-Bikes - stock (like the one I ran at Dalby - full IGSA compliant) and a 3/4 faired class (like the one that Ian Round ran. The two don't race together. You are correct that there is lots to do in the aero dept........... see you at Belchford.

I thought the IGSA had stopped its involvement in gravity bikes? I saw an email from them earlier this year saying they had abandonnned everything except Downhill skateboarding, Classic luge and Streetluge.

I think that they did but it is rumoured that they might be coming back. Whatever IGSA ! Their rules are still a good guideline for building although our rules (depending who's do's your riding) can differ a little.

News to me..... we are still being awarded points for races this year and listed on the web site. The fact that they aren't interested in G-Bikes is a differant matter, there are not enough people doing it around the world to include it in races unlees the organisers are G-Bike friendly (hello Will and Liz !!) Participation in more national events (thanks to Dalby and Belchford), lots of cool videos and great racing will increase the exposure and hopefully increase the numbers................. Although rumours are afoot to re-launch G-Bikes as a seperate thing....... hmmmmm, watch this space.

The email I saw was pretty clear, and was in response to a request to publish details about a cartie race (my emphasis);
That seems pretty unequivocal to me.
Meh.

sex EM THEN ! It's a great sport and if they don't want to be part of it, then that is their loss. They should change their name to IDSCLASLA then. Gravity sports consist of much more. Elitists.

We could really do with setting the rules out for all the UK events. Or how do I know how much fairing I can get away with?!

I'd even say just apply the IGSA rules

Hey Gary ! shouldn't you be on "The Apprentice" with a user name like " Progress". Prolapse more like.
xxx have to tell me your plans for your next bike. Had any prolapse, sorry, progress ? We will have to meet up to talk about Blakey some time. That hill WOULD be interesting to try.
