Looking good. I have been closely, following your progress as i am about to start building a GRV RCR. A few questions, if I may? Q1. Do the kneeler plates help get into the race position and are they comfortable? Trying to find a way to get around my restricted right knee movement.
Q2. How wide can a tail-section be made? Trying to work out how to mimic the good aerodynamics of the Harley XR racers. They may have been of a low power output, compared to their opposition, but they cut through the air very well!
Regards Tony

Hi Tony. looked at your other questions yesterday. sounds just like me when I started building. Q. Kneeler plates. Yes they do help getting into race possition. I start on one knee, pushing like a crazy man and have done well with my starts. Comfortable ? Not really, but my plates have no padding. Not too bad when your riding. Tried them in various positions but that is my preferred. No rules regarding width for a tail end, just length. Mutts Nutts uses a motorbike seat unit. this is the first long tail end I have made but you can basically do what you want there. Regarding weight. Two of my bikes are very light aluminium frames and I weigh about 11 stone wet. Last time we raced, my starts were great, going down steep parts and corners were good, but as soon as the bike hit the flats, other heavier bikes were catching me quick. As a result of that, I have a few detachable weights that I use depending on the hill. steep continuous hills = small weight. less steep or flat areas = big weight. Question is, will it be finished for august ? And will you be joining us at Dalby Forest. All the best Dan
