Yet more "boring" British racing I'm afraid... Two views of Team Rooket's patented "High Speed Parking" manoeuvre from Cairngorm in 2009.

by all means don't misunderstand me; the karts, drivers, hills, and overall events are not boring. just the 4-at-a-time start style ;-) (and to be fair, there's been plenty of months where the MISFITS have 4 drivers or fewer anyway) I pulled the exact reverse of what he did at the end of our july race: right-hand turn, hit the front of my kart on the inside of the corner and wound up facing toward the road. I'm not going to embed it since although we all sport proper harnesses, rollbars, and helmets so nobody got hurt, it was technically not a closed road. youtube address is www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnhqTzZkBIw

csex is a two day event. if we stuck everyone down at the same time it'd be carnage and the event would be over in about half an hour. we're not "wham bam thank you ma'am" merchants here. we like to make it last all weekend.

How did I know that it would have been one of our mishaps, when I seen the title. If the road had been open - on the wrong side of the road is exactly where I would have been. Roll bar, harness and helmet meant I walked away and the bales meant I didnt try rearranging the crash barriers or taking off into the Cairngorm wilderness. On our roads to keep it fair and safe 4 at a time is about the max you would get. Also, any more piling into the hairpin at Cairngorm would end up in total carnage, lots of broken bogies and the end of what should have been a good days racing. Some of the roads on the other side of the pond that you are racing on are completely different to what we have over here. What works in one place may not work any where else and the organisers have to judge it accordingly. Also for most of us, it is not just about the days racing, its also about the beer and bbqs at the end of a days racing and swapping stories.
