Hi UK GSA this is a message to inform your members of a soapbox race witch happens every August bank holiday monday in Kent. Last year we attracted 35 entries and 2500 spectators we hold a village fair at the same time . The track is half a mile long the race is run 2 carts at a time with a push start from two pushers the first part of the track leads you into a tight chicane, only room for one cart at a time. After this it levels out into a long right hander then cuts hard left onto the last straight where carts can then reach fifty miles an hour to the finnish line. The fastest time so far was 57.2 seconds set by Frank age 75, Winner last two years running. As a finale we run a staggered six cart race places awarded to top six times with the fastest at the back Frank won that too.entries for the race can be obtained from the Walnut tree pub 01233 720 298 our website should be up and running soon the whole event is run for charity so we try to encourage fun and serious racers alike
