A 2.4 mile run? So how's that coming along, that event?

so far so good... can't say too much yet, but if it comes together it'll be breathtaking. Planning to have something to announce early next year.

I'm concentrating on the soapbox side of it for now, since that's all I know about. I don't know if the surface is good enough for luge, and I've no idea what a turtle is, other than a marine reptile.

Street Turtles are closer in specification to Soapboxes than Luges! I was thinking us Turtles should join you at Soapbox events...

i would be intrested in hitting that!
If streetluge can come along? we're easier to transport back up the hill than soapbox?

The honest answer is that I just don't know at the moment. It'd be nice to open it up to 'luge, gbike, etc, but my gut feeling is it'll be a big enough job just doing soapbox. Let me get a little further down the line with the soapbox side of it and I'll be in a better position to tell you.
As for the turtles - they look interesting. Got links?

to have more disciplines is not easy to handle, but it´s only a thing of a detailed logistics masterplan.
my personal record is with more then 250 competitors going with
Luge/Classic/DHSk8/Dirtsurf/Gravity Bike and Inline on COASH 2006 witch i call my personal logistic masterpice(we had much multiinscriptions to handle), couse we had still some freerides in the timetable and finishing Race only 25 minutes in delay of the writen timetable
if you can give some facts with what shuttle-car u plan, road permission and timewindow, i could offer you i build you up a System and a logistics masterplan for example whats possible

There were also Skullboards at Coash 2006 which although very much in the minority, were still given their own class! I was impressed! (I was there the entire week)

Yep! www.street-turtle.com Just think of them as small, slightly strange soap boxes! They have proper steering and a brake. They're essentially go-karts without an engine. They're made in France, but there are 5 of them in the UK, soon to be 6.

My gut feeling at this stage is that we won't have room for anything but soapboxes this year, but that might change. Are you going to Cadwell? If so, come and chat to me there. I'll be the one in a kilt.

Is this the same course that they used to run the Aviemore streetluge race on, i.e. down from the ski centre?

Cool - I'd like some of that, but don't have a soapbox. Is there anything "off the shelf" available, or might you accept Turtles...?
