Unfortunatly the UK isn't known for it's mountain ranges and wide roads.
There are 3 regular locations at the moment (soon to be many more)
White Air: Very short and technical course, 20-30mph tops.
Gurston: 2 long straights, but dot that steep, 45mph tops.
Dalby: Long, straight and steep, 60mph.
Looking at the upcoming courses I guess you could say that the average for course top speeds is about 40-50mph.

I have yet been to Dalby but can't wait for it!! c u there? Will I was half joking. We luge on courses that are fast AND technical... Pushing things to the limit at high speeds. Take, for example, Bridge Valley Road... That's a high (ish) speed track, relatively short but has a few nice corners that really alternate through changes in weather. Or try the chicane in Bristol... Not hugely fast, but is fun to take as a totally flat out run (if you can hold on!). Don't get me started on our rural luge runs, I'm pretty sure that most of you on here (besides the crazy few) wouldn't even attempt these courses as they're 30mph minimum (when you begin to pick up speed and probably around 45/50mph on the fastest parts) and down the narrowest of single track roads... This is quite a good example: Right Click --> Save Target As. This was a practice run though (notice me standing at the bottom putting him off... Ooops). This was shot prior to us sweeping the racing line and nailing the hill much faster. Oh god, that day I had such bad hayfever, I felt like shit all day and could hook it up . But yeah, we don't go down straight bits of tarmac, we go down very technical roads, paths and tracks... Show some respect, haha! Bazil P.S. I'll link up some seriously funny footage soon.

Here it is... You know what to do. This is at 45mph... I'm the one driving and constantly laughing throughout... Seriously shit filming, I know, this footage has never seen the light of day since it was filmed and captured, but you can tell what happens.
