after examining my double trucks after scammonden the narrower beam truck at the back has crushed the rubber(cheap ones i guess) and the holey truck was marked where the cup washer meets the hanger, i checked on the various forums and revwrsing the washer gives the truck the max turing ability again, could this lead to splitting the bush? should i just reduce the lip a bit?....
i have moved the Holey truck further forward and left off the second rear truck, whats the current thinking on the wide axel with two wheels on each side as per Darren Lott or using splitters as per moe speed on his z-rollers, i have some aircraft grade alloy i can mill to take two 8mm axels , not sure how much strain it would put on the trucks axel with two wheels moved further out, it would however increase the axel to about 210mm

Splitters suck, espesh when compared to dual trucks. As Tom W says, dual trucks will not cause scrub, splitters will as the front and rear set of wheels do not move independantly.
Do you mean the Lott / Mo Speed trucks where there were 2 wheels on the same axle either side of the truck, so all 4 wheels were in a line? They were aparently stable, but didn't have any benefits over 4 trucks. In fact you don't get whats called the inline effect. This is where say the front wheel goes over a small pot hole, because there is a wheel behind it this will suport the luge preventing it from bouncing all over the shop. Thats the theory anyway.
Len removes the axles from Randal 180 trucks and puts a longer axle in. To strengthen them he uses a fat ally shim and this stops them from bending.
I have heard a lot of people flip their bushing cups. Bushings are cheap so it might be worth a try.
My best recomendation is to replace those small hangers with more Holey's. this will balance the luge up and it should perform better.

i had a word with len but he's never knocked the axel out of a hole to do thr Randal mod, he recons they are too well made to knock out..i'm waiting for an e-mail back fron gavin the guy who makes them and see what he says to a wider version, gonna have a word with Stridey as he has holey's for under £20 and run the pair up front, i was only gonna use the splitter/double wheel scenario at the back but i guess i will just run the single truck as normal and see how it goes first.

A splitter maybe rubbish but it will look well cool my friend. Style or speed? 'Bright Obvious Socks' says speed.

So Bos do you think socks to a luge rider are like the equivalent to go faster stripes on a car

had a rummage through my box of old trucks and found some cup washers with a slimmer lip, got full travel on them now, may need to cut out a bit on the underside of the deck...
