What's the industry standard for glueing tyre rubber to boots? Impact adhesive?

The stuff you want is Evo-Stik Impact Adheasive You can get it at Hombase, B&Q and loads of other DIY stores. Do NOT buy the Solvent Free version, it doesn't work and it doesn't get you high while doing your boots Seriously, when gluing do it out side. I am doing a Luge Boot Gluing Tutorial for my website that should be up in a few weeks I hope, look out for it. Joel

On this front, it's definitely the impact adhesive you need - run with Joel's recommendation there. Get both surfaces really clean - I used cellulose paint thinners, but only because I happened to have some at the time. Rough up both surfaces with a wire brush. Align them carefully, 'cos you can't reposition them once they're put together. Stick them together and then park the car on them for 24 hours. Seriously! The famous Tom Worsley patented method - park the car on them. However, you'll notice the toes are sticking up a bit - get a wedge shape (if you've got any door stops then great, I just found a couple of wedge-shaped stones that were lying around nearby) and then hammer the wedge shape under the toes bit to make that part stick too.
