Thank you UKGSA! Thank you everybody for such a great year of racing in 2004. Considering that less than a year ago the UKGSA was still just an idea - we have come a long way since than. Apart from organising two top class downhill events - the biggest result is that we have got people talking about downhill racing! The first year was bound to be the hardest, but now we have laid the foundations - 2005 will be even better. Ok, we have had a few financial problems - but considering that we operate on ZERO INCOME, I think that we have done a great job. Nothing in this world happens overnight, but I think that what we have achieved in only our first year is admirable - well done guys! RIde hard, stay safe. Tom w. P.S. Thinking of objectives for next year:- 1. I am already raising hell on the Lush forum - asking people to look out for new racing venues for us to ride on next season - Some ideas are coming through already. 2. And this is potentially the most important point - I am determined to find us some grant funding for next season. There is plenty of EU subsidy cash available for sports clubs, as well as grant funding from the sports council and the lottery fund. It is just down to us to fight through the paperwork and make ourselves eligible. I volunteer myself to get the ball rolling, after all I am a civil servant - bureaucracy is my middle name....
