I looked for an old thread to post this in but could nt find one. There were a couple of posts about the Water Boards road above Dovestones Reservoir near Oldham in Lancs. People thought that it might make a suitable venue. I took a walk up it at the weekend to see what it would be like. Unfortunately the tarmac surface at the bottom doesnt go all the way to the top (which is a long way) there are only a few tarmaced sections with large areas of rough gravel. Not in itself too bad but the results of any slide/ drift would be ..... the drops to the left hand side of the road are steep and boulder strewn. There is some armco but its just the right height to cause head removal to some of the lower riding cartie drivers and again its only in some places. It s a shame as it would be a dramatic long run. On another topic ....any news of Scammonden ?. I m up for it ,cart is almost ready and in need of a race or a run out.

Does look...maybe potential in some form. Would suit more rugged carts ?
