Hi, We are thinking about doing something different this year due to the rising costs of track hire and the ever worsening time of year, we are thinking about doing two summer evening events. We will still be holding the Gravity King competition over the two hills but the event will be split over the two evenings. There will be camping and a get together after the racing. We have been given two possible dates 18th June and 9th July we will find out more at the end of the month, I will keep you all up dated.
Regards
Graham

Sorry - I'm not clear what you're suggesting. From what you've written it sounds like the event will be split over 18th June and 9th July. Do competitors need to attend both dates, or is it half on one date and half on the other? Or is it something else entirely?

Hi,you will pay one price and you will get to compete at both events. You will compete on one hill on one event then the other hill on the next event. Nothing is set in stone it was a idea we have talked about.

Evening racing sounds great to me - lots of us could get there without a really early start, watch someone else race to entertain us during the afternoon and race in the evening, possibly with a crowd of motor racing or motorbike enthusiasts. Please say we can run sidecars! ;D

A split event sounds like a good idea, but as woody states, it really is only suitable for local-ish guys. Excellent if you get there and see some motor racing as well. Nothing to stop you doing some nightime / dark racing as well - now that would add some excitment. Also, your proposed dates are the weekends following the 2 cartie breaker events - Catterline and Cairngorn. (at least ours anyway ) Catterline and Cairngorm aren't designed to be breakers, just they can are challenging and demanding for us mere mortals. It is just something to bear in mind, that racers may be thinking of other events they have entered and the possibility of not being able to make it.
