Just wanted to say hi and get to know the competition.
The team will be from 393 Finchley Air cadets, gotta get the plug in before I finish.

Hia
Great to have you posting here. This section of the forum is brand new, hence the lack of posts. Keep us updated on your build, photos would be great. Or is it a top secret project.
Hope to see you at Scammo, buest of luck getting everything together.

Got any pictures of your soapbox? You can see my one that ran in the 2005 and 2006 Catterline Cartie Challenge at greasedweasel.blogspot.com/. I'm in the process of building a brand new machine using some bits I picked up on ebay and a pile of steel tube. I've been busy making up the rear swing arms and might start welding this weekend with a bit of luck. Might update the blog with progress too. Hi all you Soapbox folk We (UKGSA) are looking at extending the Scammonden 3rd June event into a 2 day session! I'm available to help with set-up on the friday evening & hope to pay some bods to clear up sunday evening/monday morning. Now that we've got our own bale trailer, set-up / clean down down should be about half what it was ;D. I'm also keen to see more use of this hill as a practice venue, so if 20 or more people commit to running on a certain date(s) then we should be able to go ahead Thinking members only for the practice days (eases admin) and around the £15-20 mark per entry. Obviously marshalling will be an issue, so that'd have to be sorted out between those attending. There'd be nothing to stop anyone organising informal racing, but UKGSA cannot to commit to providing formal organised racing on these days.... Let us know (either on this forum, or via the ukgsa e-mail addresses) if you'd like to see scammonden as a Saturday & Sunday 2nd & 3rd June Event and any proposed practice dates, and we'll see what can be done Ian Round UKGSA Secretary

Hi guys I'm trikes from Tassie down under and this one of my gravity racing machines. This what we call a Modified Soapbox. Class is based on 12" bicycle wheels. Trikes are allowed and they are very competitive. But we still have quick four wheelers. My Modified is called the Raptorcart and was designed after the Velociraptors in the movie Jurassic Park. I also race in All-Rounder Class on the 'Frog'. Also a trike. All-Rounders are based on either 12" 16" or 20" or a combination of those sizes. Supercart is the fastest class and wheel size maximum is 27". My Supercart (also a trike) has only lost one Heat (when I got it wrong and on a bend collapsed a wheel and tipped it on it's side) in 9 years. For 8 years I've been the Tech Officer for the www.southerntasbillycart.com For the last two years I've been the STBG Secretary. Oh and I also have a Gravity Bike (06 Champ) and I'm building /experimenting with a head first Street Luge with Scriber Trucks (sprung). Although I'm too far away to attend your events I may from time to time be able to provide some tech help. Hope u can come to our site sometime. I look forward to talking with u guys..........trikes

You can download them from the rules section of the UKGSA website. Or just clicke here: www.ukgsa.org/Docs/soapbox_rules_07.docAs there are low numbers at the moment we are not very strict with rules at the UKGSA run events, except where safety is concerned, but as we move on we will be looking to strictly adhear to these, or similar regulations. I'm still here - fighting through the tsunami of spam to find the genuine posts. I'd like to get down to Richards Castle one day, but I'm not sure I'll make it this year. We'll see how we get on at TES Cadwell Park first.

I know it's only part of the list, but I've only published ones where I know the date. I've just added couple more and I'm sure there will be others, such as Stonehaven and Belchford, but I don't know when they will be this year so I've not added them yet.

Hey, Its been a while since I've been on here, we had trouble with finding somwhere to store the cart and it got put on the back burner of projects as we didn't have enough cadets that were realy hardcore into it, but hopefully this year will be different.
On that note, would anyone know someone able to bring a racer along and maybe give a bit of a talk to some cadets? Details to be sorted once I know if its likely or not.
PS-been an awfully long time since the post, but hello to will, sounds like cadets to me, but health and safety has unfortunatley gone mad, just like in other organisations and there is very little of that anymore, but its lead to new pursuits like this, so not all bad.
