Just finished my first GB build. Shortly before final finishing, still with the ugly kneeler bars . . . Will post a full-length shot later . . .

Hi , that looks cool , have you road tested it yet ? how does it go ? I built my Gbike from a BMX frame and it was skittish , the more experienced guys told me the forks were too upright ,upright is fine for a bmx so it can change direction at low speed , Gbike needs more angle as it goes at high speed and needs to be stable .

Blimey, there IS someone else on here! Did the Penn House Grand Prix on it Bank Holiday Monday (http://www.pennhousegrandprix.co.uk/). Got second fastest time overall, so quite chuffed with that.
Forks are quite 'steep', yes, but as long as you don't put any weight on the bars, it's fine. Basically, you take all your weight on your knees, and you're just 'guiding' it with the bars. A lot of riders tend to tense up, and grip the bars too tightly, which can make any Bike very 'twitchy'. You could have a vertical steering axis if you wanted, as long as you have a bit of trail.
My next build will have a Dirtsurfer style front end.

No, I wouldn't have been pleased if I'd traveled a long way to it. Luckily it's only a 15 minute drive for me. Was wet all day, showers on and off, but was still fun. www.facebook.com/PHGGP/photos_stream

Penn House GP is later this year, 27th June, so weather should be OK. www.pennhousegrandprix.co.uk/We've got some sponsorship from a local Estate Agent for this year, and they're having a lot of their own people enter as well, so should be a good turn-out. We're tweaking the running of the event as well, so should go more smoothly this time.
