Where do you get your correx from, and what thickness do you use?

Bit of a setback , my gazebo blew away , so i will have to wait a bit untill the wind dies down to straighten and relocate the frame before i can start on my chassis . Thats what i get for living up in the mountains .

Don't dismiss hardboard as a material for bodywork. It is dirt cheap, easy to work with and finish to a good standard - brilliant for making templates for more expensive materials. The only downsides are high weight, dubious durability if allowed to get very wet and impossible to create compound curves - similar problems with shapes afflict correx and plywood. I have started to experiment with a plastic board material called foamex, which is used by sign makers and shopfitters. It is available in 8' x 4' sheets in 3mm and 4mm thicknesses. You can cut it with a stanley knife and it's self-coloured. Available in several colours and about £25/sheet. The material is very flexible, but difficult to glue. However, it's easily fixed with mechanical fixtures such as pop rivets. Hope this helps
(Why do I always give away my best ideas?)

I used some offcuts of foamex as the sides of a tool cabinet , good stuff , i tried to bond it with polyurathane it wouldn't stick i tried painting it , it all just peeled it is strong and light i have some alluminium i stripped off the side of a damaged box van i can also do fiberglass , as an accident repair technician i repaired damaged Lotus, reliant, TVR etc , i have heard about a way of laying up over polystyrene (not tried it yet) , you carve the shape you want in the polystyrene , and skin it with fiberglass then remove the polystyrene leaving a shell , might give that a go , who knows , way off yet

Merry Christmas woody, at a guess your Gazeebo will have turned into an Igloo but I hope the build is progressing! You thought you might be rolling by Christmas but if you are anything like me cartie and sidehack are on the back burner! Too bleeding cold up in the Bowling Clubhouse never mind a Gazeebo in the back garden!

Hi , hope you all had a good Christmas I managed to get some grinding done and dressed my welds ( the mig i am using is a "toy" and has random wire speed !, thats my excuse , honest i have British standards coded welding ! ) and have painted my "bare bones " chassis , it was minus 2c last night and is pouring with rain today so i hope the paint goes off , i had to stand the paint tin in boiling water just to get the paint to flow ,it was like treacle , i will get some pics onto my facebook soon HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL
