Hia
Bonless and I hooked up yesterday to do a bit of riding on an old section of the A3.
Firstly big thanks for Anna and I to Boneless and Saft for a really nice lunch at their stunning pad. Great soup even if it didn't have any meat in it.
After the grub and a bit of shopping we headed up to the road. It's an abandoned section of the A3 and is a really cool spot for a bit of crusing. No good for bombing, not ver steep, prob 30mph max, it has cat eyes, the tarmac is ok, but a little rough in places and there is a big gate at the bottom. But like I said, it's a closed road, its great for just cruising and carving and we had a blast.
Biggest thanks to Boneless for teaching me how to slide! The road was damp which helped and Boneless lent me his slide board with 95a wheels on it so that was good. I never really managed to get a controlled slide at all, but I could get the back end out and managed a couple of 180s where I managed to stay on, but most of the time I just got chucked off.
Many thanks for a great afternoon
Joel
P.S. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's Superman!!! Doh! No it isn't.

Yah, was a pretty big smash. When you don't know how to slide, you're going too fast and wobbling too much to be able to foot brake and there is no run-out thanks to a big metal gate it leaves only one option left... Would have been a lot worse if I hadn't purposly angled into that nice soft, muddy bank covered in brambles. As it was I got away with a grazed knee and found a few more small scrapes on my back ast night. Shame it wasn't on camera, but at least you were there to witness it. Sorry I didn't witness your footbrake tumble, sounded impressive.
Plan for later this year is to have a load of you guys down, do a dawn raid on another local hill, then ride the old A3 the rest of the day and a BBQ in the evening. Happy days.

We could kick off with with the dawn raid, then move on to 'Le spot' for more downhill fun and then if anyone fancies it hit the gnarly concrete of southsea skatepark and/or run a few cones at the red place on the seafront all washed down with swims and bbq's and beers and the sound of the sea gently lapping at your feet... Sounds good eh?!!!
