Just thought you guy's would like to know this. I contacted (email) five luge companies (inc one in France) and the only one that had the decency to reply was Andy (Joel put me onto him - thanks Joel). Andy dosen't build luges anymore. Looks like I will have to build one afterall. Ben from Scriber Aust and I are going to develop his trucks to suit luging. But I'd still like to buy another luge for comparro purposes and to race at Bathurst. Anybody got one for sale?..........trikes

So I picked up a 2nd hand luge from OBR' Pat Brennan Australia. I ran it at Newtons Playground but the OBR has done a lot of luging but I hadn't at that time so I duly retired from the luging section before I hurt myself. So anyway since coming home from Newtons the OBR and I have done lots of running and with my experience gleaned over the last ten years of gravity racing of various forms I'm now pumping a fair bit more speed out of this OBR. Here I am kicking up the dust at Hobarts Technopark. Up the hill I set up a slalom which leads into a tightening radius turn which is a fair bit like Forest Elbow on Mt Panorama. So after buying and testing boxs and boxs of wheels I can tell you what the new nick name I have for Flywheels 'Slippery Wet Bean Bags'. I spun the luge twice in the slalom and posted almost the slowest times with flywheels. So I've learn't heaps about setting the Luge up and I've reduced the wheelbase by about 164mm as well as mucking about with wedging, roll centres and bearings. There is a lot of hype and BS advertising out there.
