Insul is the weekend before Mesnieres: Might be pushing my luck a bit to do that one as well. Nearest airport is Cologne, 50 miles away. Flights not mega-cheap, around £120 return. List of Euro event dates at: www.longboarding.org/calendrier_view.php

Will By all accounts Bukolik was amazing. It is the weekend immediately after Chamrousse, so last year, those with freedom (lucky gits, I envy you) went from Chamrousse straight to Bukolik. So theoretically, this year, those with freedom could do COASH, Chamrousse and Bukolik on consecutive weekends!

Graeme - You'll qualify on a luge no probs. The majority of the 250 riders will be riding standup, where you HAVE to be fast to make the cut.
In the luge field the only real competition is among the top 15 or so, but they will qualify many more than that.
Ride hard, Stay safe, Ignore that gibbering gobsh*te.

Graeme your closest to me where are you thinking of flying from? Manchester with Swiss Air looks likely at the mo, with a car from Zurich airport. SWiss shouldn't charge extra for luges, which EasyJet do. Let me know what you're doing.

people who plan to do consequtive events and stay there in the alps, well last year we did a road trip from chamrousse to bukolik, and i swear, it was purre heaven, we were a group of about 20, some belgians, some frenchies, some swiss, and zeveryday we hitted another fabulous spot, i swear on your way from cham to buko you'll hit some really marvelous roads, so i would say, join us, cause i'm certainly going to do it again

Ah haaaaa! So if anyone beats you at Luge, you'll have the pre-prepared excuse "Ah, but I didn't get as much practice as you guys as I had to practice stand-up too!"

Jason - I won't be needing practice runs this year, I'll be kicking ass fresh out of the box.
New clobber for this season:
New luge - 110% faster (Due to bearings taken from a moon-buggy. You think I'm joking? Think again...).
New Diet - Have switched from Lager-fuelled nutrient drinks, to a new faster Cider-based derivative.
New Training Routine - Advanced-science hot-tub exercise schedule has kept me fighting fit (Ask Max, he's on a similar exercise reigime).
Oh, and I'll me drinking my own p*ss from now until June. Saline fluid has a higher density than fresh water. The higher your density, the faster you go (Apart from Joel that is, who is just a bit, um, dense...).
Ride hard, Stay safe.

yer jason if i could tag with you guys? carry on splitting costs etc. and i've got my driving liense so could split the driving too? Will OK Will and Wookie: Which airport would you prefer to go from, Stansted or Luton? Personally, I'd prefer Stansted. I know it's nearly twice the price at £52.98 return rather than £27.98 return from Luton, but the timings are far more feasible. I'll explain: I want to fly there and back on the Sundays. First practice is at 9am on the Monday, so I want to fly out the day before and then fly back the following Sunday. If we go from Luton, the flight leaves Luton at 7:15AM. On the Sunday we go back, the flight to Luton from Basel doesn't leave until 9:50PM. With Stansted it's far more convenient: The flight out leaves at 1:35pm and the flight back from Basel leaves at 4:40pm - both far more convenient times. So, Will and Wookie (and whoever else might want to join us): Do we go Luton - Basel - Luton for £27.98 but at pain in the ass times, or do we go Stansted - Basel - Stansted for £52.98 but far more convenient times? Up to you. I need to know what people want to do before I go ahead and book anything, but bear in mind the earlier you book with Easyjet, the cheaper it is.

Also - Work out which flight you all want to get, and book all of your seats in one transaction. These budget airlines monitor interest in flights, and if you all book one at a time it will set alarm bells ringing in the Sleazyjet finance department, and you may find that they hike the price on you.
